Fatal Crash Near Chetwynd On Highway 97

Chetwynd RCMP are still investigating a two vehicle accident that claimed the life of a woman and injured two others.

A west-bound mini-van struck another vehicle around 3:45 Saturday afternoon on Highway 97, 36 kilometres west of Chetwynd. The female passenger of the mini-van was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were sent to the hospital for minor injuries.

The name of the woman is being withheld until further notice.

Police closed down the highway for several hours, but have since reopened all lanes.
